SelfMade Health Network (SMHN) Learning Experience

SMHN provides technical assistance to help organizations and public health programs serving populations with low socioeconomic status implement sustainable strategies that reduce commercial tobacco use and improve cancer outcomes.

Purpose

Increase awareness and use of SMHN technical assistance to support tobacco control, cancer control, and community partners in implementing evidence-based policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) interventions that improve health outcomes.

Eligibility

Organizations requesting technical assistance must focus on one or more of the following areas:

  • Commercial tobacco use prevention
  • Tobacco cessation
  • Cancer early detection and prevention

  • Policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) approaches (non-medical drivers of health, cancer early detection strategies, tobacco prevention and cessation strategies)
  • Rural Health Strategies
  • Health Systems intervention
  • Coalition Engagement
  • Culturally and geographically responsive communications
  • Sustainability and Program planning
  • Community-clinical linkages
  • Strategic planning
  • Revisions to internal products (fact sheets, workplans, burden reports)
  • Community engagement and outreach
  • Documents for public dissemination
  • Partnerships
